National Liverpool Care Pathway for the Dying Patient (LCP) Office New Zealand

The National LCP Office NZ supports the vision of the NZ Palliative Care Strategy:

"All people who are dying and their family/whânau who could benefit from palliative care services have timely access to quality palliative care services that are culturally appropriate and are provided in a coordinated way."

The National LCP Office NZ was established in November 2008 to coordinate the sustainable implementation of the LCP in NZ. The National LCP Office NZ is funded by the Ministry of Health and works in collaboration with the LCP Central Team and Marie Curie Palliative Care Institute Liverpool (MCPCIL) in the United Kingdom (UK).

 NZ NATIONAL LCP WORKSHOPS

Date for your diaries - we are pleased to announce the dates for the NZ National LCP Workshops in 2010 (which have replaced the LCP Foundation & Advanced Trainings Days).  These will be held:

  • Friday 3 September 2010     (Christchurch)
  • Friday 24 September 2010   (Auckland)
  • Thursday 21 October 2010   (Wellington)

Wednesday 7th April 2010 - NZ LCP Generic Version 12

NZ LCP Generic Version 12 was launched successfully on Wednesday 7th April 2010 following the receipt of full document compliance with the 'LCP generic version 12 - International' document by the LCP central Team (UK).

The NZ LCP Generic Version 12 document is available here.

As you can see the document includes the following supporting information:

  • Relative or Carer LCP Information Leaflet
  • Healthcare Professional LCP Information
  • Medication Guidance

All registered NZ LCP users should now have received an electronic copy of the NZ LCP Generic Version 12 via email on 7th April 2010. If you have not received a copy please contact National LCP Lead - NZ or National LCP Office Administrator.
